Ive killed alfira before she rested in my camp, Ive entered combat mode and killed her,Ive rested again and Ive got the cape and spoke to the Butler
but for some reason he killed the bard instead of me

Ive got this message in my quest log now
TRUST THE BUTLER q

Will I miss something?, since Iam going for dark urge achi this time and endding

You misunderstood. This Butler is essentially a manifestation - in the form of an undying Fiend - of the Dark Urge's innermost instinct, an essence from Bhaal. The butler does *not* kill anyone or anything on your behalf. He only gets killed by the masters he serves, and can be permanently killed later in this game in your hands.

did I mess up my dark urge questline or smeth?

To the best of my knowledge, as long as you received the Deathstalker Mantle, the questline is still intact.

A little hint for you (no express spoilers) =>

You will - as you most likely have expected - have more interactions with this butler later. To trust *him* or not (as phrased in your quest log) is essentially a question that you ask yourself about yourself: do you want to trust your own innermost instinct or not? Keep this in mind: this butler is essentially a physical manifestation of your own innermost essence, something that defines your unique existence, your urge.
