Sorry, I can't help.
Yea but from what I've read just now it's just for the show :). There's only a steam installer or sth like that on that dvd.
Best to directly contact the official Larian Support.
via email support@larian.com
Main reason is we do not know what you typed in, how you typed it in, and how it looks like. And if you share that there is a risk to lose that key.
Via the official support you can clarify things, such as : as far as I know the only way keys gets delivered like that are with the special physical edition. And I recall that due to production delays the keys were partially sent separately per email in advance. So it would make no sense if you got two keys that way, making the key from the production delay invalid etc.
Since the physical editions are quite rare in comparison, you will not find much help here beyond the usual "how you enter a code into Steam".
In doubt contact Larian directly.
Also, some letters and numbers will never appear in a key due to obvious reasons.
But again: contact support directly.
At the same time you could also contact Steam support for help, maybe.
It is worth a try that you reach out to them and ask them about that. Maybe they can help you identify which letters/digits are wrong based on what I wrote above in regards how some are never used in keys.
Steam support is available all the time - with some exceptions.
Yes, it's for steam.
The game is entirely DRM free. The physical editions always come with a platform code.
The problem which cannot be easily checked here lies in the details.
Like where does the code come from.
Even if it is boxed, without knowing the details there are too many unknown factors. Such is whether the item is second hand or not. For the same reason I would never buy a collector's edition from ebay even if they claim it is still sealed. The seals are -surprisingly- easy to remake with a simple hairdryer if you know how.
