Static camera.
One more thread..
So, after all this time, are there any ways to make combat camera be F*** STILL (fixed in one bloody place, NOT to move)?

Screenshot 1 - how I need it (before the attack), screenshot 2 - how it becomes right after the attack, forcing me to position camera after every f*** attack again and again. What is this crap? Alpha version or what?

Your Screens are not public. But I think there was an option for an overview screen.

But they ARE public. There is no option to make camera not-jumping around after every attack. And this is just a garbage camera design. How could they not fix this yet - is beyond me. :angry_yeti:

You can have a strategic view look at you keybinds section, I think it was there.
I don't have a problem with the camera and I quite like that part.
On another note if it was really static, I can see some fights becoming hell.

The camera moves to focus on who is doing the action so you can see what's going on. There is no way to stop it without a mod. I don't know if a mod for such a thing exists.

I mean, it takes literally 2 seconds to readjust.

I'm on controller. Once I know who it is I made the character target, I use the initiative ribbon to select them with the D-pad. It's just easier like that.

Using the initiative ribbon is probably even easier with a mouse.

It is, but targeting via that is always just center mass, sometimes you need to be *really* precise with targeting.

The EA camera was far superior for PC play. I absolutely hate the release camera changes. It was done to cater to those who prefer immersive camera angles -- which is NOT what these games are about in the first place. I don't like ranting about things like this but, There was a freakin' reason why the camera was, for so many many years, the way it was for top down view games.

For example, it is insanely hard to maneuver the camera for a specific spot, and to zoom into that spot to get an item without using the alt key or pressing the right thumb stick in to retrieve it. I have had numerous problems viewing the game even on control pad on PS5 just because the camera just plain sucks. It's literally the only thing about the game I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate. lol.

Definitely on occasion. Even still, that ribbon jumps the reticle to the right area and just takes a bump to target that tip of an elbow through that narrow gap with a fireball to take out the whole lot who are, otherwise, behind 100% cover.:steamhappy:

I do prefer the 3rd-person direct driving of exploration available to controllers only, though. It seems that the party pathing has improved to avoid known traps and hazards... but is still not perfect. (Gale! Really?! You're the one who succeeded on noticing it!)

(I think there's a mod that extends the feature to keyboard, but I haven't modded, yet. I'm pretty sure I will at some point, but I haven't won enough dialog to be confident that there's only a little bit more to squeeze out of the story. I'll mod only to sweep up what little still remains when I'm sure there's only a little remaining.)
