I don't have a problem with the camera and I quite like that part.
On another note if it was really static, I can see some fights becoming hell.

Using the initiative ribbon is probably even easier with a mouse.
For example, it is insanely hard to maneuver the camera for a specific spot, and to zoom into that spot to get an item without using the alt key or pressing the right thumb stick in to retrieve it. I have had numerous problems viewing the game even on control pad on PS5 just because the camera just plain sucks. It's literally the only thing about the game I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate. lol.
I do prefer the 3rd-person direct driving of exploration available to controllers only, though. It seems that the party pathing has improved to avoid known traps and hazards... but is still not perfect. (Gale! Really?! You're the one who succeeded on noticing it!)
(I think there's a mod that extends the feature to keyboard, but I haven't modded, yet. I'm pretty sure I will at some point, but I haven't won enough dialog to be confident that there's only a little bit more to squeeze out of the story. I'll mod only to sweep up what little still remains when I'm sure there's only a little remaining.)
