Jaheira
Still upset we didn't get to romance her, she's obviously the biggest "catch" in game

She was romancable in BG2 so for a lot of us she's taken.

Jaheira was married in BG1, romancable in BG2, and now she is a century older. Maybe the writers thought that it would be weird to romance an older woman- although that would surprise me. Or maybe they though that she had enough baggage as it is. Or they thought that for a good romance arc, all three acts would be needed, and she only really joins during the tail end of Act 2.

On a panel Tracy Wiles mentioned (maybe jokingly, maybe half or more seriously) that she would have liked to do voices for romance scenes. And I could see how a romance with Jaheira could work, so, yeah, bit of a missed chance. I would sign a petition for this.

I need Jaheira
I'm holding out for Jaheira 'til the end of the night
She's gotta be strong, and she's gotta be fast
And she's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need Jaheira
I'm holding out for Jaheira 'til the morning light
She's gotta be sure, and it's gotta be soon
And she's gotta be larger than life
Larger than life

This and I think the fact they already had a lot on their plate they probably didn't want to retread on old territory and just focused in on what they were adding in. Plus like someone else said, some people romanced Jaheira and addressing that in a satisfying manner would've been a can of worms.

Interesting idea, if it was another woman maybe. For her though, she was married in BG1, the events of BG2 then happened, and it's been a long long while since then.
She's likely devoted herself to what I would have expected her to, harper things and trying to maintain. To me that makes sense for her at this time in her life.
Would it have been a fun idea? Sure, but I feel this makes more sense where she was left, especially since a romance in BG2 is optional so writing for it or against it in BG3 would have been a problem so I get they chose to leave her in a way that makes the most sense to her as a person.
That and as others have already said, Larian had an insane amount of crap on their plate to manage.

She looks a bit weathered and acts like a grumpy old women. I'm not sure why you would want to romance her.

The woman is over a century and a half old. She is pretty old for a half-elf, from what I understand.
Uh oh, this woman looks a bit weathered.

Guess she's worthless now...
