Is there a reason so many gamers are scared of gay people in BG3?
Is it that they are closeted and sexually frustrated? I know it's in vogue to portray one's self as an 'alpha-male' and boast of masculinity, but when you think about it, how alpha can one be if they are afraid of another's sexual preference in a video game?

Now that people have pointed out how much that metaphor comes up when homophobes are ranting , I can't unsee it.

"Scared". No, it's the fact that homosexuality is over represented. Add that to, everyone who is rich in this game is evil while the poor refuges are almost universally portrayed as good and you have the makings of woke propaganda.

I don't care if you have the option to be gay, that's not my business, so you can stop with that narrative but having everyone come onto me is just creepy.
Wait wait, making rich people evil is 'woke' now too?

Like, is It's a Wonderful Life woke?

Aww man Robin Hood is woke. I can't believe it. :steamsad:

I mean it's overused sometimes but evil rich/powerful people vs the noble poor is basically the oldest default struggle in the history of stories.

Robin Hood was a socialist. He stole money from the rich, who of course would be portrayed as bad, and gave to the poor who are all hungry and pathetic, but angels.

I'm not a total expert, but I think there's a little more to socialism than just robbing rich people.

Aren't you supposed to eat them or something?

Mostly an issue with ratios, same for women.

I understand faerun is a fantastic land where everything is possible and social architecture are mostly different from ours, but to us it will always look odd.

I honestly don't mind, just dislike the disgusting presence of elves and lack of dwarves. But others will mind.

There are also people who are tired of forced representation that makes something matter when it shouldn't matter. It makes certain demographics more important than everyone else. They have a point.

Nothing is 'forced.' Just because gay people and strong woman exist doesn't make it 'forced.'

It's interesting that words like 'forced, shoved, inserted' are used when describing gay representation in a video game.

A bit Freudian no?
Is forced and cringy AF. Sexuality preferences or gender is only a "proud token" for morons and losers.

Nothing is forced, though. No matter how often people of your sort try to claim otherwise.

If Astarion's suddenly swung his noodle in your general direction, it's usually because you've picked the dialogue options that lead to this specific event. No one to blame but yourself in that scenario.

Simple: the majority of people don't like weirdos.

This game is like going to work, helping the new guy with a report, and because you did that, he grabs your butt and tries to get some in the conference room. Its cringy.

Any of those would reduce a lot of the horny 13 year old vibe that the game exudes.

Where in BG3 does anyone 'grab your butt?'

You get 13 year old horny vibe from this game? The problem is you. That is gross.

AHH... Another example of the use of the word 'forced.'

Homesexuality is 'over represented?' How so?

Everyone 'come onto you?' Hyperbole right?

Gamers hate women and minorities. I thought that was common knowledge and also an ancient Chinese proverb.

I don't think it's about that. I'm gay, and even I'm exhausted with seeing LGBT people _over_represented in games and media. And it's not just that, but they almost always make those characters into heroic, noble, perfect beings. Take BG3: The ONLY trans character in the game is the ultimate stereotype: A quirky character with dyed hair (ALWAYS THE DYED HAIR ON TRANS PEOPLE; WHY??!?!) and is pretty much the only good-natured person in the entire Shar-area in the city of Baldur's Gate. And the only survivor, based on how things go. Why couldn't it be an evil trans character who was just like the other cultists, but just happened to be trans? NOOOO, they can't do that: Have to make the trans person noble and kind. And HAD to give it purple/pink hair, rare as that is outside of the planar circus in the game. I'm 99% certain that the trans character in the Shar area in BG is based on an actual person developing the game. It really seems like they projected themselves into the game.

This is pandering (or narcissism if my guess is right), not healthy representation, and that's why I dislike it. The drag queen at the planar circus was much more colorful and interesting.

Pretty sure there is more than one trans character in the game.

How do you know there are no evil trans characters in the game? What is wrong with a trans person being good? Why do you think they should be evil?

You are gay, and you are calling the trans person 'it?' I'm calling BS on your post.
