Key disappeared...

So I am in the refectory, in the overgrown ruins area, I am fighting a bunch of folks, and they escaped behind a door and locked it. So I looted one of the people I killed, and got a "bandit's key", but then it just disappeared from my inventory...

The door remains shut, there is no key in existence anymore. What is happening? Is that a bug? I tried to look in the log, to see if perhaps the key "crumbled to dust" or something like that, but there is nothing. Just "you picked up a bandit's key"...

well, whole lot of good that did me...

Show me a screenshot of the door. My guess is that the key doesn't fit in that particular door.

PS: You have a bag for keys, all keys automatically go into that bag.
