Steam Cloud Full - How to Save Space???
The steam cloud fills up for this game, but I can NOT get it to wipe out space. I deleted saves off my Local PC, then I deleted them from the AppID in the cloud but it keeps downloading the ENTIRE thing.

I have tried all the online guides that say to just disable steam cloud, restart, and that would wipe it back down to 0.

Nope, my steam cloud is still full. I re-enable cloud and it never even gives me the option to keep local or not, it just instantly goes and re-downloads all the data back in.

I want to wipe it out so it re-syncs with just the save files I kept on my PC, but it doesn't want to do that.

Does anyone have any idea how to force the Cloud to wipe itself out so it has space again? This is kind of annoying.

Whatever guide you referred to was bad.

Use this and if you do it correctly it will work:

I mean, you can see the screenshots as proof. Back then the cloud capacity for the game was tenfold. Here is a fresh screenshot - just taken it

Thanks for the info, Steam needs to make a much more intuitive approach for cloud management.

However, I did find the most obvious solution for myself (If you are just doing file cleanup like me) is to actually just delete the files manually from WITHIN the game.

I tried to delete the files on my PC and Cloud manually, and even tho the Cloud was empty and the files no longer existed on the PC the Cloud storage never decreased and kept re-stocking the files.

However, I let them restore then started the game, deleted the files using the Delete Save option in the game, and this synced the Cloud and decreased the files!

So another way to fix this issue is to just delete files from within the game menu and it should be all set.

I still don't like that the only way to have steam wipe a cloud out is to trick it by using file mis-matches.

That's crazy, I didn't know such a thing was possible.

Whatever works. :MHRISE_OK:

You can also turn off cloud saves if you only play on one machine. If you don't require it to back up your files (because, its a game, if my pc crashes my saved game files are the least of my problems) or play multiple machines, its just slowing you down (cloud saves slower than disk) and filling up with rubbish.

Yeah I know, it's pretty unnecessary for me I Just play on my PC no cross platform nonsense. I can't believe people play this without a keyboard and mouse.

The problem is that the game doesn't cycle auto-save files.

I think they need a feature added so you can maybe cycle 10 Auto-Save files, and it just overwrites.

The fact it keeps creating autosaves pretty quickly bloats up the save files beyond a gig+

Maybe there is a mod that does this already
