Don't understand how BG3 won so many awards

Yes, im totally serious, I was thinking about buying this game but thankfully on Playstation I had 2 hours free trial because of PS Plus and deleted this game after like 45 mins from my device.

My biggest question how is this game won so many awards? This game WOULD have been perfect IF THE YEAR WAS 1990 not 2024. I click on my character then choose a random ability to attack with the speed of a snail the enemy. I mean niche games such as Darkest Dungeon has similar combat but like I said DD is a niche game no one really cares about it and isn't a best seller/most played game. + there are way too much talking in the game (but at least they are skippable)

Maybe the game just catering towards OG gamers (45+) who liked this game design in the 90's and want to re-experience some modernised features.

this game was not made to look like a Skyrim or something it was made to look like a board game and be the closest to it, if you want to play a game that's like skyrim play skyrim, this isn't that

hmm a perfect game would be, semi-linear world, you can choose from guns and swords, custom character creation, good story, good multiplayer and artistic graphics

Let's leave it at that: this isn't your cup of tea. Luckily, you didn't even have to issue a refund before realizing that. If I need to mention a game that would be: Bloodborne it has semi-linear world, guns+swords +a good story+ character creation + multiplayer + artistic graphics so Bloodborne has everything that I mentioned

It not only won all those awards, it won all those awards against a bunch of games that probably would've won any other year. I'm sorry if your favourite game of the year lost out to Baldur's Gate 3. It really should not impact your enjoyment of that game. It's still good. But saying it could only have won in 1994 just shows you up as someone ignorant of both gaming and technology.
