Any point in buying rare Bard Instruments from Chromatic Orb
They say they are rare but it seems they are rare in name only and nothing worth buying. Am I missing something?

There are no instruments in the game itself that do anything other than enabling Bards (or others) to Perform. Well, there is the Spider Lyre, but that's a quest item.

Bard instruments can be magical and have magical properties, but none of those exist in the vanilla game. They can, however, be found in mods. I've found one that lets you summon Deekin Scalesinger, and that brought back ... memories.

most magical instruments should in theory raise your spell casting DC for bard spells, but that was never implemented.
