Mods will kill your game, regardless of single-player or multi-player.
Was there no message about why the connection was rejected?
Steam-to-GOG won't work this way, since both of you appear to either be behind CGNAT, Dual Stack Lite or block the use of UPnP for automatic port forwarding.
The game uses peer to peer.
I like your tech speak.
I'm trying to follow along to fix my Multiplayer game.
I'm not super tech savvy, so what you said... I have no clue what it means. Could you, please, break it down for a simpleton like me?
There is a DLC. you get a hat, a cape and some other stuff from the D&D movie.
And yes there was a message and I took a pic of it but cant post it here I guess
"Connection failed: server has different mod version - Server (GustavDev:4.2.100.3698389),Client(GustavDev4.5.500.4403056)."
ISPs that use this technique will cancel all incoming connection attempts because they don't know to whom this connection was meant as there are multiple customers that could be behind the IPv4 address.
Steam has a transparent service called Steam Datagram Relay. It works like a VPN between players and gets around these issues, but only works for games owned on Steam and only if the connection is between Steam users.
Ok. This is a common problem. It means your Mulit-Player sync file is now mismatched. The solution is for both of you to delete this file:
modsettings.lsx
It is located in:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public
You can access the AppData\Local directory by putting this string into the Explorer address bar:
%localappdata%
It will be recreated and in sync when you both start BG3 again.
Good Luck
Thank you!
We are inviting each other through Steam and from the game itself.
Both options still do not work. We connect to the local bby for a moment and then get booted.
