Sharpshooter feat - did Larian ever pronounced about the ingame changes?
So, 5e core Sharpshooter is:

"1 - Attacking at long range doesn't impose disadvantage on your ranged weapon attack rolls.

2 - Your ranged weapon attacks ignore half and three-quarters cover.

3 - Before you make an attack with a ranged weapon that you are proficient with, you can choose to take a -5 penalty to the attack roll. If that attack hits, you add +10 to the attack's damage."

BG3 Sharpshooter is:

"1 - Your ranged weapon attacks are not penalized for High Ground Rules.

2 - Ranged weapon attacks with weapons you are Proficient with have a -5 penalty to their Attack roll, but deal an additional 10 damage.
Note: This is a toggleable passive ability."

Did Larian ever justified the need to change the feat? Not to say the disadvantage on the range of attacks, the cover system isn't even implemented (hope they change this in future patches.

Obs: I may be wrong here, there's a lot of time since i played it, but Tyranny (that's, for me, even better than PoE) had a cover system for ranged attacks. Larian may as well pick some inspiration there if the engine allows it.

Edit: By the way, is the feat still worth for an archer, to whom use it, do you feel a difference?

The range attacks change is probably because you can kinda abuse stealth / long range to hit enemies without causing agro on them.

The flat damage bonus is worth it. Take also into consideration multiple attacks.
