Is Minthara fixed?
I was planning to do a new BG3 run and I wanted to recruit and romance Minthara. I heard it was possible to recruit here and keep the Tieflings alive, but I have also heard that her dialog is broken and that it is impossible to romance her without killing the Tieflings. Before I start the campaign I would like to ask the community.

1. It is possible to recruit Minthara on a "good" post-patch 5 run. Works for most people, MIGHT be conflicting with some mods (I think that's in my case). Key thing, make sure you KO her while temp hostile.

2. Her romance no longer requires the grove massacre, but you will miss the Act 1 scene that has become so ... known. I wouldn't say she is "broken" but I think they need to write more dialogue interactions for her, and particularly finish her romance. Bottom line, you CAN get her romance ending without the evil route, now.

I had no problems interacting with her on my good run. I knocked her out in the Goblin camp temple, and killed the rest of the goblins. She showed up in Act 2 pleading with Ketheric and trying to avoid blame for failing her mission. I had to save her from jail. I imagine you can fail this. But I didn't. I got her out and back to my camp. And then I could recruit her.

Granted I wasn't trying to romance her, but I didn't notice any broken dialogue. She reacted to plot points being revealed, had opinions on things, I could ask her questions about herself. The normal stuff.

I've fully romanced Minthara at this point. I've just finishing up in Rivington for Act 3, and moving into the city soon. But.... I did massacre the entire grove. Not one person left standing. I'm a little bummed Wyll turned on me, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

This is my 2nd play through, so doing things with a Minthara spin has been a nice little twist in various dialogue options (going the extra evil rout, and encouraging all my comrades to go evil too, which will probably have disastrous consequences for a couple of them).

With Minthara, it is pretty slow building up her approval rating.... so I'm not sure how far you can go with her if you don't stay focused on doing bad guy things.

If you're having doubts about what direction to go in; consider the path less traveled. It can be fun, and has less tieflings.

It's only impossible to romance her if you think "romance" = "sex".

As far as her being broken.... This route of recruiting her is a bug that they've decided to make legitimate. I'm guessing it'll be better integrated in the future, but until Patch 5, this recruitment method WAS Minthara being "broken".

No, that's not the case whatsoever that "romance" = "sex", and nothing more, when it comes to Minthara. But you'd have to play into the evil side of a Dark Urge play through to understand where a Minthara romance can lead, or you simply wouldn't understand. There's barely any sex at all, and quite a bit of sharing of life goals between the two. Heck, she wouldn't even join me with the Drow brother and sister duo in Rivington. She's kind of a prude...

My first run was a Neutral Good style character who ended up leaving the Tiefling vs. Goblin plot unresolved due to not wanting to take lives unnecessarily. Anyway, I had Minthara, and by the end of the game her approval was just barely shy of max. She approves of plenty of good things. But she's definitely a slow gain - I had her in my party constantly from the time I recruited her right before Act 2's final dungeon and all of Act 3 to pull it off, and I did need to keep her at a slight distance for a few choices she disapproved of.

Getting her earlier in Act 2 than I did will probably allow you to reach max approval for her without metagaming at all like I had to do.

Thanks, that's interesting to know, and shows the flexibility of this game. I did not pick up Minthara in my first play through. I did a Dark Urge on the path to redemption play through my first time around, and Minthara was left as a dead husk on the ground :)

On my 2nd play through, I'm Dark Urge again, though about as evil as the game allows you to go. I'm at max approval with Minthara right now, but around the end of Act 2, I was just barely above half way. On this evil play through, her approval just sky rocketed very early in Act 3, especially when talking about future world dominating plans, learning the details of my Durgness, and so on. She seems to love the whole Durge thing. At this point, I'm just getting ready to go into the Lower City, so have the rest of Act 3 ahead of me.

So her approval definitely is much easier to grow doing a straight up evil play through; especially as Dark Urge.

Hell no lmao. I am now playing with all updates and started act 3 and she didn't have option to kiss or even recognized the romance despite getting her to accept being my partner in act 2. I rushed to drow twins to see if she even recognized me as her partner and it was at this moment I realized my save was bugged. I had to google console commands and minthara romance flags fix. A redditor posted a tutorial. I followed their instructions and reloaded rhe start of act 3. She now had option to kiss and then rushed to drow twins and she threatened to cut me lmao. So ...super thankful for reddit! I was about to rage quit.

Yea I was so disheartened when I realized it was bugged, and I didn't want to lose all the progress. I have done shadow/tav, karlach/tav, shadow/laezel, and then was trying good dark urge/minthy. I really just wanted to uninstall the game lmao when she didn't respond during drow twin...super thankful for reddit stuff.

On a evil play through rn, killed the druids/tieflings had the "scene" afterwards, recruited her in Act 2. Im in Act 3 now just killed Orin. My approval with her is on maximum. There have been some nice dialogues with her, including some kissing dialogue. However somewhere during the end of Act 2 I think, or beginning of Act 3 she said that she'd visit me at night, but nothing happened. At the time I didn't think of it as much and just continued playing but I think something is still bugged with her. The Quest to kill Orin is supposed to be her redemption/romance quest but afterwards nothing really happens and it's just kinda unsatisfying. Especially because I ditched LaeZel for her lol

There are some instructions you have to follow but this was it.

I recruited her before patch 5 (murdered the entire grove, Wyl and children included I wanted her so bad) and I'm now well into act 3 and my relationship is "very good" but not "exceptional", and she just rejected the advances and the 'sharing' a moment with the Drow escorts in Rivington.

I love that we can kiss but we haven't had a meaningful conversation (conquering the world together, etc) in a while, and haven't had seggs since the 'scene' post grove. So I'm just a bit disappointed that it's not going past kissing (whether it's dialogue or intimacy). Maybe I need to get to killing Gortash and/or Orin to step up the story (I'm faffing around with optional Q's). :sotsad:
