Does the Soldier background just have way more Inspiration moments than the other ones?
Lae'Zel and my Paladin both have had way more Inspiration points than the rest of the team. Is this some odd coincidence relating to how I play, or what?

I don't know all the instances of when you can and can't gain inspiration in the game, I'm sure the wiki might have it though.

I'm gonna say yeah though; your playstyle plays a factor.

If there's multiple characters with the same background in your party, you will receive double inspiration points every time you earn any instead of just getting one.

with the soldier background specifically, I think you tend to get them for killing the goblin leaders, and for killing the giant spiders in Whispering depths, and one for successfully kicking down a door at the Act 1 Inn (Forget it's name) etc, things like that as far as I've noticed.

I find that the Soldier doesn't have more per say, but it just aligns with how most people play this game - killing enemies. Which is what you're going to be doing anyway so it's an easy background to rack up points with.

Guild Artisan is one of the hardest or least common, forcing you to play with the crafting system, gathering ingredients, earning vendors' favor by giving them free money.

Here is the list from the wiki. As you can see, Soldier actually may have the fewest in act 1, and subsequent acts. However the soldier ones are the most strait forward ones to get. Simply do well in combat or engaging in combat is all it takes ussually.

This.

The default option is kill everything that moves, so backgrounds related to violence will naturally trigger easier to find/acquire inspiration points.

if it counts, durge probably gets the easiest inspiration

Shadowheart seems tough, got to find and make obscure religion rolls. I get the most folk hero ones, saving / helping people. I tend to be nice to people, I guess.

Yeah Shart is a real hard one.

Today I finally after so many tries in different playthroughs, freed the goblin prisoner in the goblin camp, and Shart got inspiration for "freeing the heretic"

Folk Hero, Haunted One (The Durge exclusive), and Outlander also seem to have a lot of inspiration goals that are pretty easy to walk into (well, maybe not Folk Hero if you're doing an evil playthough)

Charlatan has A LOT. But I do play characters who are masters of the duplicitous arts.

I agree soldier has a decent chunk, though
