i have *A* mod downloaded. so u saying just launch without the mod and it should work?
Depends on the Mod and how deeply it has changed files. Step one is to try with it simply disabled. Once through the door(s), can re-enable if you like. Until next time. :)
Yup, it worked. appreciate it!
Excellent. :)
I spoke to support and they recommended doing the following:
....
If you are currently using mods or have used them previously, they may be what is causing this issue. It’s best to double check that all mod files are completely removed. To do so, check the 'Mods' and 'Public' folders in the '..\SteamApps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data' folder, etc; and if present, both folders are safe to delete. If applicable, you can also delete the modsettings.lsx file in the profile folder.
You are also going to need to check the local AppData folder for the current user account: '..\SteamApps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data' as any old mod files may have been copied over to there. To do this, copy the following line into the location bar in Explorer and hit Enter: %LocalAppData%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods
Delete any files you find there.
....
I removed the mods from the game, reloaded the game and sure enough, the ring worked.
Did you have to remove all the installed mods?
Some folks are saying Hotfix 17 cured the problems of 16, but I'm unsure about this, only seen one post so far to that effect, I think.
I DL'd Norbyte's Script Extender mod on Nexus (there is also a github version, but I could not seem to get that one to work? Maybe I'm dumb lol) AND repaired my game files after installing. This has fixed the issue with quest items not being recognized in my inventory, at least as of Patch 17.
I'd venture to try repairing your game first to see if that fixes the issue, but based on some of the discussion threads I was seeing on Nexus, that alone did not permanently solve the problem. Only having the Script Extender and repairing the files has given me the consistent fix.
:p
EDIT: HOTFIX 17, my bad. There was also a patch this morning, maybe that also fixed it (doubt it) but nevertheless xD
