You are not wrong about that. Just slightly not on point. It is just that the yellow one is the main one, green, red, blue are multiplayer characters one. An additional green one appearing despite you not playing multiplayer occurs quite often due to a UUID misinterpretation by the game. No biggue.
I wonder if this has far-and-wide consequences. (It seems that many, many seemingly-unrelated mods and modded saves ran afoul of this change.) I wonder if this is causing something weird for currency stored in that chest.
It's difficult to make claims on what happened, but there's a possible avenue for it.
I usually just distributed the weight of the gold. Whenever I swap companions (I try to keep a party of 4), I redistribute what was shifted to the MC from the dropped companion.
(Just be glad they didn't do the fractional currency where those currencies have their own weights despite being worth less than gold currency. The prices are about 100x what they should be in D&D 5e, but that's probably because gold is the only currency in BG3, and it looks like they've made gold 100x less in value to compensate.)
That does sound like it could be what mods which make their own modifications to Inventory and/or quest items run afoul off.
And no that'd not make it a bug, on the game's end at least.
It'd be a new feature that the unsupported mods aren't accounting for and thus are breaking the game.
Don't blindly assume something to be a bug unless the problem occurs in the unmodded game as well.
Have to pay attention, since in this first playthrough of mine i decided to pick and catalog every single book on the game (lore books) and that is taling a hell of space.
Well, first step is to disable them all and see if you can find the Gold on any character, bag or Traveler's Chest.
Worst case is that the Mod somehow dropped it somewhere. Might need to check an older save and see if it is there, if not found anywhere else.
Are you sure you did not accidentally purchase access to Raphael's place for 20k?
Did you disable your Mods and check everywhere again?
