You don't need to kill the Githyanki. between you and the portal. Heck you don't even need to touch them. As was just said, you only need 1 person (not even necessarily Tav) get to the portal in 3 turns and go through.
Don't feel bad. I borked this on my 1st playthrough too.
Unless it has been patched out. The encounter is unavoidable and feels odd in the context of the majority (excluding Ketheric Thorm) of the previous battles to be possible to resolve with dialogue skill checks. Then again, it gets worse in Act 3, where most quests just as unavoidably end in combat.
No one is perfect. I deleted myself within the first 10 minutes of play when I accidentally shot a Nautiloid Tank from point-blank range. Sh!t, I suck.
Never died here though. C'mon, 3 turns is an eternity.
Yup. That was it. :) Thanks. I thought I had to get all 4 there, but you only need one. So I just misty stepped it and done. And the dead Gale came along to the next level and I was able to ressurect him.
Different team builds I suppose. I found the next fights trivial in comparison.
