Just noticed - Dex 13 on all origin characters?
With the solely exception of Astarion (as it's his main attribute) every other originl character has Dex 13. Funny if not improper.

Can't see Karlach as much dexterious, Shadowheart pursuing trickery domain should surely have a better dexterity, Gale maybe or maybe not should have 13 dex and Lae'Zel is ok with it (with Githyanki training and all).

Wyll's int points should surely go to dex.

Of course, we can respect all of them as we wish, but still, from a plotline pov, it's strange.

Dex is a highly useful stat used to give additional AC so 13 or 14 is solid on any character. It makes sense that realistically karlach would be like 10-12 but as a barbarian she needs like 16-18 if you don't intend to armor her 14 if medium armor for that +2

14 is often my minimum if I'm not planning on heavy armor.
Respec.

I would not see it from a plotline point of view. Otherwise you could discuss as well the lack of races/classes. It is more that the characters where created independently at first and then polished afterwards. A lot of changes can be seen not only from the artworks but in particular with Karlach compared to early access.

I also think the odd numbers are a good thing to encourage players using ability score improvement feat. And when Withers / respec was solidfied as integral part of the game it mattered less and less.

There is only so much you can do with a strict point buy/standard array system for ability scores.

The game requires zero min / maxing even on tactician. Just play it.

Read the final paragraph, then think on editing your answers. Or not. My points aren't metagame or min/max.

Well, yeah, plotwise is too much subjective to say how much dex go for each character, still, curious that 13 was given to all (except Astarion for mechanical reasons).

I think its less to do with plot and more to do with would be bad build wise, a barbarian with 10 or less dex would suck lol so even if Karlach should have 10 cuz big bulky girl, it's still a hame and thay would be less armor class, which isn't great when your base is 10.

they all used a pretty standardized stat array (aside from their primary stat being the big one, of course), i assume simply to make them all similarly as strong.

dex is good on every character, as it provides to AC unless your in heavy armor, and 13 is the perfect number, a +1 in it at any point gets you to that +2 that most medium uses.

I respec all the origin characters in order to redo their ability points.

Start with no odd ability scores because you will be wasting points until lvl 4 when you get your first feat.
