Dunno how far you are in the game but Astarions Arc is one of the more better written one - if you a) romanced him, which you obviously didnt b) hit a certain key-event in Act 2. After that he became one of my more favourit characters - his voice actor is amazing tho.
I've had some of the girls do the same to me ... and I'm gay. You find a way to turn them down but still say "We can be friends, I don't like you 'that' way..."
And I think all the companions are bi in here... unless there's an exclusively gay or straight character in here?
Dev/Writing Team went the lazy way: all companions are playersexuell.
He's been around the power hungry and hasn't seen things another way.
