about cleaning cache
hi there, im currently in act 2 and ive been having some issues with the game crashing that, by searching about, many people pointed that cleaning the level cache by deleting some stuff should be helpful. but im quite the noob so i just wanted to clear it out, will that make any mod i have in the game be deleted? im willing to delete them if it fixes the problem but im scared that it might mess up my game since i saw some people saying that deleting mods mid game can cause some troubles. was wondering if it can have any other sort of negative outcome too

thank you, i will! do you know by any chance if mods can be the issue for not being able to complete quests? after doing some stuff the game runned ok but i just cant save the gnomes and tieflings. it crashes if any character, mine or not, starts breaking the jail wall. if i dont try it, the game just moves on

Yes. Mods can and are often the issue. Currently there is a series of quest related problems caused by mods. Hence: consult the mods authors for further assistance.

I had the same issue. I discovered that the save file system was the problem. Steam can only hold up to 1.8 gigs worth of save files and a single file can be anywhere between 30 to 100 megabytes depending on how many items you have stashed on your characters/camp chest. So if you hoard items, your save file will become larger and larger and larger still. By act three, I had 1,6 gigabytes worth of save files. Culling my inventory and deleting old saves fixed the issue and even pushed my FPS from 30 back to 50-60 again.

I learned the hard way that it's not a good idea to hoard books and extra objects. Sell those bad boys at the next avaliable vendor, save for legendary quest items. Also be sure to hold onto infernal iron. It will be used later.
