It could kind of make sense lore wise though.
Back at your camp whoever you got handling locks would have all the time they would want to fiddle with them until they got them open.
I clicked on a locked chest and then the game says it used magic hands to take a Heavy Chest from my camp to unlock the chest I clicked on in Shadow Lands.
So it used a chest to unlock a chest....
It used a chest like a key lol
This is a Master Lock Chest. It is opened with a Master Lock Chest.
It doesn't always happen; some locks behave normally for me. Because I'm just playing my dang game, I haven't investigated whether I legitimately have the key or not when this happens. I have no idea what key goes to which lock without trying to open it, and I have a lot of keys. All I can say for certain is that I pull a chest out of camp with my "magic pockets" sometimes when I click on a locked container or door.
