The only mods I'm using are Better Inventory UI, AddonBetterInventory UI, ImpUI (Improved UI), Weightless Gold, Highlight All, Highlight North and ModFixer.
Does any of that sound familiar?

There is a battle on the bridge against hands but it is triggered AFTER the player talks to Jahiera.
This quest is broken unless the OP spoke to Jahiera and left that part out.
Well, it might be some kind of hardware problem or corrupted file or something, but I still feel confident that the problem is in one of your mods. Since it seems to be cutscene-related, and one of your mods changes cutscenes, that's where I would be suspicious of first.
I'm nearly certain it's not a bug in the base game. Otherwise a lot more people would have mentioned it.
There was a bug ages ago where the Oz would beat Dammons ass but this battle isn't even involving the Oz but the Shadowcurse. Enemies he mention definitely sound like the ones from when Last Light falls if it's as intense as he says 'cause the one on the bridge only has a few enemies, not a full scale assault.
Disable, delete, uninstall, and burn that piece of ♥♥♥♥ with fire.
I have always hated it because for me it never "fixed" anything, it only created problems. Supposedly for some folks it prevented a weird bug created by older mods at character creation. I never experienced that.
But honest fact, for sure, it is no longer needed in Patch 7, and many folks report it creates huge problems with Patch 7. As I said, burn that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with fire.
I suspect it's the cause of your problem. Honestly, at this point, it really ain't fixing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, it just creates problems.
Larian has a code built into the game that outright ignores Mod fixer. Only time it can't is if the ModAuthor fricks up the file destination but in such a case it almost always screws up the main menu screen so it is noticeable when it's breaking the game.
But yes, ModFixer is not needed and hasn't been needed since September.
