Sadly Larian is not known for making DLC.
Although that could change, if certain conditions are met.
Larian worked hard on the game, but in most people's eyes it is still 'unfinished' mine as well. There is much and more they could do to improve the general story, the singular Stories of the Origin Characters, as well as the stories that press a path forward.
Sadly, Larian has announced a bit back that they will not be making a BG4.
That being said, logically, once an IP is on your honor roll and is good to you, one tends to continue on. I would expect Larian, if WoTC continued on with their contractual needs with Larian - Larian would make a separate biz group, much like Square Enix did for FFXIV, to 'handle' BG4.
Grats on the nomination, but they didn't appear at the 'finalist circle' it seems.
And Steam awards both in Nominations and in the awards are just glorified popularity contests....Elden Ring is the more popular game, so it won...
I personally don't attach any more value to it than that, and I don't believe that the majority of those who vote go much further than "what is my favorite game" rather than who's actually earned it....otherwise we'd see way more Indy Games especially for the Labor of love awards...there are plenty of indy games who will never have a chance at the awards, that would be way more deserving then both BG3 and Elden Ring combined...
They don't need to win them over and over again every year.
Other games getting awards does not take away from BG3's success.
I am looking D:OS1 and 2 and all three cases they have not finished developing the game before release. Instead it took them at least 1 year to fix most of the issues which should not have been existent to begin with.
I am not going to repeat what was said thousands of times already. if you want to know what content was cut/unfinished, then just look it up. People are pretty accurate about that and have easily proven their claims.
99% of the time you simply never hear about it, and thus don't miss it....
Yet in the vast majority content that get's cut was cut for very good reasons...
ie people complaining about supposedly missing act 3 content, conveniently ignore the plenty of complaints about act 3 dragging on and on already...
honestly I get the vibe that larian really just wants to move past having worked with WOTC seeing how they scrapped their dlc plans and whatnot
I don't really get what here contends for "labor of love" since the implication of that is outstanding ongoing/post-launch support
larian tends to just add a few things and then call their game done, not that there's anything wrong with that
