Minthara Recruitment

So I haven't played BG3 since Oct 2023. I heard that Minthara can now be recruited. How is it done now?

By using the search engine either in the forums or Google.

Knock her out in the goblin camp in act 1 (remember to have non-lethal on and that it only affects melee attacks, not projectiles or spells), then when you get to act 2 she's basically having a trial in front of Ketheric. Go to the dungeons and talk to her (may need to pass some rolls, been a bit) and you can get her to follow you. Take her outside the tower (invisibility helps else you'll need to make more persuade/deceive rolls with the guards) and she'll join you.

Now you can have Minthara while still being a good guy!

Just beware that doing it the way Yin explained is often buggy. My HM run is currently on hold waiting for patching since I can't even talk to her after freeing her in the dungeon. There's quite a few people reporting problems similar where you can't talk to her in different situations, and as far as I know there's no fix for it when it happens.

I knocked her out then killed the other goblin bosses to free Halsin. In Act 2 I watched her confront Ketheric. I just said she was a loyal follower and she was sent to the torture room. In the torture room I just killed her guards first. Then she thanked me and I said we need to escape. We went out the back castle exit and no one challenged us. Once we jumped across the river, she spoke again and I told her the location of my camp. Once in camp she can join you immediately, or you can finish other business first.

Interesting is that since that time Minthara was always recruitable.

The main change is that she's now recruitable without helping her massacre the Grove, aka what folks call the "good way". Most recently, now you can even betray her there, and recruit her later (although IMHO that makes even less sense.)

I'm hoping with the mod tools somebody can change things up so that you don't have to wait till Act 2 to recruit her. Even Daughter of Lolth mod simply was another way to set up recruiting her later (though I believe the "ring method" could hack her into Act 1 as a party member, although you can also do it with Debug Book or Script Extender.)
