Baldur's Gate 3
How is Minsc still alive?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this game set a hundred years after the events of BG2? I like space hamster daddy as much as the next person in posession of an intact heart and soul, but he seems to be human, all things considered.

I’m guessing he was in some kind of stasis?
He is Minsc the III grandson of Minsc from BG2.

He was turned to stone for over a century. Read up on the D&D comics if you want to follow his escapades, or lack thereof.

Will do, thanks for pointing me that way!
Follow HumbleBundles.com and they will have all the D&D comics on sale at some point. I scored a digital version of every D&D comic for 25$ when they last offered. Part of the money goes to charity as well, so it's a good cause.
It's FR canon that Minsc spent most of that time petrified, just hanging out as a monument in Baldur's Gate.

You can find a note referring to this somewhere in Act 1. Waukeen's Rest, IIRC. People are upset that the statue was stolen.
Hm, the whole affair gets answered pretty direct in the game itself. In dialogues with Minsc, Jaheira and even Astele "Nine-Fingers" Keene.

You need to have Minsc in the party of course to trigger the dialogues, but that is a good idea anyway, now and then at least. - He has some fun encounters, but especially when visiting the Guild.
"Because the plot demanded it."

Look. They desperately wanted to use the name Baldur's Gate 3.

Has nothing to do with Adrien mind you, nothing to do with the Crisis. But then they said, how is this BG3?!

So you get Minsc, Jaheira, and Vic. None even remotely like their original selves.
Nice spoiler in the title, thanks.
That he had been petrified & turned into a statue had been part of the lore prior to this game. Hence, "Stone-Lord".

Minsc+Boo, and even Volo are just humans. Both were turned to stone. Minsc by choice, and Volo well because of an incident.

And Minsc is the human, Boo is the Miniature Giant Space Hamster.

Yeah, technically. But Minsc being around has been a canon FR fact for a while.

Anyway, the game tells you what's going on in Ac24t 1 at Waukeen's Rest.

There are literally dozens of hints, warnings and mentions in Act 1 and even in act 2.
