Question about Dhourn the drow
Has anyone ever been able to engage with him (and leave him alive) after the spectator is dead? Usually I end up killing him in the battle, but the last couple of times I was able to kill the spectator first. When he's no longer hostile he always turns flips back after talking about the adamantine forge. Any way to prevent that? He's a funny and engaging character, right up to the point he goes hostile again, and I was just wondering if there was any way around it.

Dhourn will bow to the authority of a female drow Tav.

Yes, as a female Drow.

If your character is not a female Drow Disguise can be used for the same effect.

As people have mentioned, a female drow can insist on enforcing the matriarchy, but this also means you will be unable to complete the mourning frost staff.

Unless of course you want to be sneaky and pickpocket his part of the staff off of him.
So if you play or disguise as a drow female, you can't just demand he give you the icy helve? I'm assuming he doesn't show up anywhere later in the game? I've never seen him anywhere else & was really wondering if that could happen if you leave him alive. I thunderwaved him off the (short drop) cliff, and knocked him out on my previous game. I looted him & got the helve, but I never went back to the Underdark, and that was the last I saw of him.

He's been stoned for a long time. He probably has the munchies really bad, and that makes him irritable.

You cant demand something you dont know exists. Remember, you are not your character, you may know he has it, but your character doesnt.
As it stands, I think pickpocketing him is the only way.
