Murders in Gortash HQ? No one seems to care.
I complete the Raphael quest, get back to Wyrm Crossing and go to Gortash HQ and head to the throne room for the big fight with Gortash. Everyone's dead on the ground covered lying in pools of blood with no explanation whatsoever. Anyone left living doesn't seem to know anything about it and is going about their duties as "business as usual," even though there's a mass killing spree right in front of them. No one seems to know anything about it either. Kind of weird. Not sure where Gortash went either. Did the robot guards do a Westworld number on the town folk?

Gortash is on the top floor. Go to the right side by the throne and out, follow the ramparts and watch for traps.

Gortash explains it in the cut scene- *SPOILER* -
he killed them because they spoke out against him being appointed archduke

Funny enough, my partner destroyed all the traps on the walls in the throne room when he first met Gortash, so when he went back to fight him, all those people were still alive. I guess it's the traps that kill them, not the guards cause the guards were still there too.

Gortash is in his Office top level of Wyrm Rock's Fortress. He only needed the Patriars to witness he ascend to the Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate - then they are useless to him afterwards, so he ordered the Steel Watchers to kill them all then and there, leave no witnesses.

IIRC it was hinted when player got in touch by Gortash on the submarine to the Iron Throne - Gortash said something like "There will be more bloods on your hands if you still intend to break into the Iron Throne." I think.
