What if Astarion do not speak to Raphael in act 2 ?
I saw Raphael at the Inn, but did not try to speak with him. Then coming close to the Mausoluem he appears but Astarion was not in my party, he's not been really a part of my party.

He just gets pissy you didn't have him along when you spoke.

Then you progress his questline without the knowledge what his scars mean, it doesn't lock you out of anything but a few dialogues
