[Dye Color] What colour do you associate each companion with?
Hello,

If you use Dies, do you usually associate the same colour for a companion?
If yes, which colour for which companion and why?

- Astarion : Red, for obvious reason.

- Shadowheart : Violet, dark but with still a tint of potential light.

- Karlach : I have a very hard time to associate a colour with her...still need to think about it, as none are a match for now.

- Lae'Zel : Yellow, energetic and alive.
- Gale : Green, as the dude seems calm (don't know him much)
- Wyll : any dark colour (don't know him much)

And you, what colours do you use and why?
Please try to keep your comments spoiler free, thanks :)

I forget which dye I used, but whatever one it was it had altered Astarion's leather armor I'd given him into a distinctly Assassin's Creed-esque outfit, especially since he even had a hood on.

I do not mind the default colors for most of the equipment. There is one obnoxiously copper plate armor that I use a black/white dye on to make it appear more armor-like. That is really about it.

Astarion: Dark red, black, silver, creamy white.
Shart: Purple, black and grey, silver.
Karlach: Brown, black, gold, sapphire blue.
Gale: Blue, silver, void.
Lae'zel: Silver, red, green. Also gold.
Wyll: Gold and silver.

We all get the same color cause we're one big happy family. (I use a dye mod and the dye color I use is Milk and Honey).

Astarion: Pale Pink, Muddy Red, Scarlet and White, Red, Harlequin, and so on. Basically I do anything that's light and try to add in some sort of red tone. I've had him in light blue too and it wasn't too bad.

Karlach: Golds and blacks. Her eyes are gold so I try to have her clothes match. Orange and pale orange can work too, though. Drake looks awesome on her.

Halsin: Browns and greens. Maybe some gold. Father Oak colors.

Shadowheart: Blues, violets, blacks, and so on. Anything dark with cool tones for her.

Lae'zel: Green or red? Lae'zel is hard to dress because she has like a greenish yellow skin color. I usually end up with dark red or green. Since she has a lighter skin color, I try to put her in darker armor.

Gale: Purple. Pretty much anything with purple, although the Robes of Summer look pretty awesome too. Blues can work as well.

Jaheira: Gold and white. Green works well too.

Minsc: Purples and blues work well. I try to get colors that match his tattoos. And whatever Boo wants!

Wyll: Swamp green is surprisingly nice, but I usually put him in blacks and reds as well.

Minthara: White, black, purple, red, and so on. I've also seen her in scarlet and white like Astarion and she looked great in that.

If I were you, I'd just color coordinate with their hair color, skin color, eyes, and so on.

Just three I keep in the same colours most games.

Shadowheart: Black and Azure.

Wyll: Black and Furnace Red (much like his camp colours).

Astarion: Indigo (usually on the Drow armour).

I think about this way too much, but I'm glad I'm in good company. TBH, I usually dress three in reds, three in greens, and three in blues so I can remember how I built them, but here is my personality-based list:

Astarion: Everyone seems to like reds, but I like Ocean. Teal is universally flattering, and with his pale looks, I felt like he needed some color. Black and Jade Green is also a favorite. (Try him in Karlach's camp clothes with Black and Jade Green--niiiice.)

Gale: Yes, Purple, Indigo, or Deep Lilac, which are flattering to his brown eyes and fair complexion--not to mention that orb. It also reflects his relatively posh life and how he stands between good and evil options sometimes. I don't even swap out his camp clothes, usually--he's just right.

Halsin: Dude is a warm spring, so he looks great in Sage Green or Feywild Green and Dun. Alabaster Brown isn't bad, either. Everything he comes with matches him very well, so I tend to keep him in his starter camp clothes.

Jaheira: She is easy to wash out with bright dyes, but I don't have many feelings about my options. Most of the greens are a fine choice, with the exception of any paired with black.

Karlach: Black and Furnace Red is perfect for her: not too bright and not too clash. I've also had her look good in Sea Green, which has a lot of bright blues but enough green to keep it from looking like a Lego color scheme. For camp clothes perfection, put Laezel's underwear on her and remove everything else. Just. Wow.

Laezel: Blue. Plain Blue dye. Trust me. The blue keeps her green skin vibrant, and the yellow of the highlights balances it perfectly. It makes her armor (usually heavy if you keep to her Fighter build) shine a proper silver. For an even better experience, get Shadowheart's camp clothes and dye them Blue as well. They look even better on Laezel, no joke.

Minsc: I agree with Alex: match the tats.

Minthara: Keep it muted, but never grey or brown. Dark Amethyst is perfect. Harlequin Black and White if it doesn't default to too much grey. Black-and-X dyes are often good, too.

Shadowheart: I know people will disagree here, but Green. She has pale skin, dark or light hair, and very pale eyes. Green will make her glow in any format, and highlight her either/or personality. Pink and Leaf Green or Black and Summer Green can be contenders, too, if you have the right costume. If you want to up the dangerous look, Bloody Plum, which can really get some great accents on the right clothes. I usually dress her in Minthara's or Astarion's camp clothes, depending on if I'm planning a good or evil run (if using Astarion's dye them Green--it looks great).

Wyll: My heroic bro deserves White and Scarlet Dye (Drake's & Lush Burgundy is ok too). It makes everything pop in a paladin sort of way, and that's his persona. And his starter camp clothes? Bah. Give those to Karlach or Astarion. I get him some ruffles from Astarion or Laezel's excellent pants, and some Swarthy Swashbuckler stuff asap in Act II.

The only one I do that with is Karlach. Red. Brighter the better.

Eh. Seems kind of OK with me. This is a pretty timeless discussion topic.
Anyway, the only one I almost always use the same dye for is Shadowheart, and I usually give her the "black and white harlequin" dye.
