I hope we get a chance to fight Vlaakith in DLC
Would be a rather grand way to end the Baldur's Gate III game with a DLC where you defeat a being that aspires to godhood.

Given in a lot of the D&D I have played in the past we usually end up trying to fight against demigods and such in the later stages. Though for it to be realistic, they would likely have to raise the level cap a bit.

My first thought when I saw the level cap was 12 was “mmmm DLC”. Not so sure though.

I too think a bigger conflict with Vlaakith could be a great setup, but yeah at lvl 12 it would be like trying to outrun a plane.

Would make for a great DLC and the story is there.

We can have Laezel come back and tell us that the war with Vlakith isn’t going well and that Orpheus have been injured or captured or something and asks us to join us in her homeworld to make a small team for the rescue.

We will see her homeworld which would be alot of fun, and have a big town with mostly giths but also some new species that we never seen before .

Could be an awesome experience.

They could make her world look something like the Barrens from WoW with savanas, while life, beaches etc…

Would be neat if you could end up in the end raising Laezel into the new Queen of the Gith, with you as her consort, as one of the endings.

Would be dramatic, zooming out with her sitting in a throne with Red Dragons and Gith bowing to her.

I do love the idea of finally crushing the Gith empire by taking her down. Stopping a force that plans to invade, conquer and enslave everyone thats not Gith sounds like a perfect adventure for a dlc.

Yep, I am going to keep my fingers crossed we get that, or something equivalent!

Githyanki empire is huge though, Toril is just one planet in one realmspace

It could be a great premise for a new Planescape game.

I really want a modern game set in Sigil again, and a crazed interdimentional war against Vlaakith could be a springboard for so many stories.

It could be fun to go into that war, but defeating her feels like a decades long thing, not a side adventure

No thanks, seen enough githyanki by now to last me a lifetime. I find them too alien for the setting.

Vlaakith is well on her way to godhood (it doesn't matter how foul her methods are - the fact of the matter is, she got millennia to absorb power and build her domain of influence). I think even characters of level 20 will struggle with her - if it's done by some canons of the lore. Maybe a full party of level 20s will make a dent on her and maybe enough to threaten her to force her into some concessions. But that's neither here nor there.

What DLC? Larian have pretty much ruled out doing a DLC.

I agree, all Vlaakith has to do is use Wish on Lae'zel and the rebellion is over and done with.

Oh come now, haven't you ever had a D&D game where the characters eventually fought against a Demi-God? There are ways to do it, as long as you can get your levels a bit higher or get some artifacts that can counter certain abilities of the Demi-God in question.
As cool as it would be, WOTC would never let us fight actual gods in a way that would effect the overall canon of the universe. Also timestop sucks and we'd just end up with the total game killer that was that spell.
As level 12's we'd never be able to even remotely fight her. if we got to level up we'd get access to the spells that make BG not fun because they're practically mandatory like timestop and the sort. (see counterspell)
