I prefer to go through the pass to do the gith creche then grab Elminster at the pass exit to Shadowlands , then go back to the Selunite outpost and do the Underdark and Grymforge. Too much good loot and XP in the Underdark section to pass up IME.
Emerald Grove, Underdark, Mountain Pass, Shadow Cursed Lands, and Grymforge are all combined and you can freely move between them doing things in whatever order you want and at the same time. There are some timed quests that can fail under certain circumstances - like if you enter the mountain pass before finishing the goblin camp/druid grove conflict, or if you rest after meeting Nere psychically behind his cave-in. There's basically nothing for you to worry about and you can approach this all non-linearly.
Just make sure you finish EVERYTHING you want to do in both act 1 and act 2 (which again, are combined so you don't need to worry about much) before you enter the portal to the shadowfell at the END of Shar's Gauntlet, the LAST thing you do in Act 2, you're probably a dozen hours away from that if not more so you're good.
Doesn't really matter. Preference only. Both Mountain Pass and Underdark (dubbed where the Nightsong is hiding but it is actually hiding in ACT 2)
Just remember visit both area to maximize exp, loots, lores, combats, etc.
Nightsong is Act 2.
The game is weird with it's acts. Very strange with the acts. Technically Mountain Pass is still Act 1, not Act 2.
What you should do if you don't want to miss much:
1. Finish side quests in Act 1.
2. Get to the mountain pass entrance but don't progress.
3. Go to the Underdark and complete everything until you get to the elevator(Game will tell you you're about to progress.
4. Sort out the goblin camp / druids grove.
5. Go through the Mountain Pass but don't go to the Shadow Cursed Lands(You'll get another warning message here).
6. Finish Lae'Zel's companion quest.
Once that's done choose whether you want to go to Act 2 via the elevator in the underdark or to the shadow cursed lands via mountain pass.
There are some differences depending on which route you take but not very big differences(I think it's just a matter of perspective in the intro of Act 2 that changes).
Also if I go to mountain pass, does the rest of the quests for Act 1 dissapear?
Also, if I get to Shadow Cursed Lands and get the warning and I progress, do I lose some quests?
Wait a second. I heard if you go to Grymforge before rescuing the Druid, then its too late. That conflict resolves itself. Is that not so?
There is also a timer in Grymforge and you are not supposed to leave or take too many rests.
I heard if I start Act 2, I can go back to Act 1 but I'll lose all the quests I didn't do yet. This is only the case if I get to the cut off section in Act 2, or if I start Act 2, I'll lose all the Act 1 quests right away?
