Glut vs Spaw, missing choice to side with Spaw [Suggestion]
Hi,
I think we are missing the option to betray Glut after saying we'd help to avoid the fight. We should be able to tell Spaw that Glut wants him dead or something, or just tell Glut that you changed your mind and fight him.
Right now if you ever agree to help Glut you can't back out.

If you believe it is a blocker to potential quest ending/path, file a bug or feedback directly to Larian

Doesn't telling Glut you won't kill Spaw make him hostile? I did that AFTER helping him kill the dwarves. If you told Glut you would kill Spaw and changed your mind have you tried just attacking him?

If these options don't work then it sounds like a bug

Everyone becomes hostile if you try atttacking just Glut, and end up having to kill the whole colony

That's why you kill Glut in Underdark Cove after Gek or whatever that snarky arse Duegar is called.

And he's no longer following you where you can lure him away? That does sound like it got all messed up somehow because I'm not sure why he would even go back to the colony and just sit around

He wants to pretend to agree with glut and then expect to be able to tell spaw that glut will betray them.

Larian doesn't give you that option to tell Spaw, not a big of a deal for most, I believe it's not a quest blocker either.

Just kill Glut and tell spaw you killed it.

I helped Glut kill the Dueger (well, I already killed them, I just showed him the bodies) then he was like "Hey, let's overthrow Spaw!" I told him no and he got so mad he tried to kill me. I had no choice but to fight him.

Maybe try just killing him.

It would of been nice though, I tried this route as well only to find out I had no alternatives but just tell Glut no and fight him.

It's not illogical to think it could be a possibility.

You're right though, it's just a lack of options, not a quest breaker.

oh yeah, that's just how you solve it then. He's not going to let you survive not helping him (in his mind, you're obviously going to win)

That's not an option. I kill him and the quest just autocompletes with no drops or reward and Spaw doesn't have any lines I can choose.

You only get that choice if you kill him via the dialogue options that turn him hostile which vanish after you agree to help him kill Spaw once.

Basically, I didn't expect to be unable to "change my mind" after being ambushed with the whole kill Spaw conversation. And the game doesn't let you walk that back

That doesn't seem right. I did the quest like 60 hours ago in my save but IIRC after I killed Glut I spoke with Spaw and was giving some rewards and exp. He also spoke about Glut being bad or something something dark side.

I think I'm still wearing the necklace he gave me. Something about being a friend to the spores or whatever and giving me +2 on ability rolls for conversations or something like that.

Nope. That reward is for killing the true soul Nere and bringing his head back.
You only get the line if you kill Glut after refusing to help him, which is the issue I'm pointing out. Once you choose an option to help him kill Spaw via conversation with Glut, you are stuck having to go through with it or just keeping the quest open.

U wont get reward, but u get loot if u do so:
Invite him again to group - walk with to duregar camp (which already cleared?) , then FIRST Dismiss him and THEN attack him while he's walking away. If u kill him as member u wont get anything - if u kill him in mushroom camp - well... u already experienced that :)

The quest will be completed - no reward...but Glut is lootable.

And yes - i agree... a dialog option to change your mind would be better - of course if ur playstyle includes to trick around with factions... maybe there should be a little downside effect if u not deny Glut at very first... but at the moment it feels a bit stuck/bugged

You can help Glut kill the Duergar, tell him you will overthrow Spaw, then in the conversation with Spaw, tell him what Glut has planned. You will then fight Glut by himself with the entirety of the colony on your side. I literally just did this a few days ago. I'm not sure how you can miss it if you just agree to help Glut and then go talk to Spaw.
