Larian has put too much power in gamers' hands! They were fools to think it could be controlled, and now look what it has wrought! The game cannot even be played!
I think you should be watching certain videos rather than playing the game that way lol..
All others are just … there
Gale is kinda just flat and doesn't go through an arc really.
Astarion probably would have been really good if they'd just given him more time to develop. Unfortunately a lot of his development only comes out if you romance him, which not everyone is going to do.
Karlach is good, but not as well done as Shadowheart in my opinion and again I don't think they gave her enough to really work with.
Wyll is also kind of flat.
Honestly I think the biggest issue is that she feels like she actually got enough time to have an arc and everyone else's stories end up feeling rushed.
Except maybe Lae'zel her's is pretty good too.
I fully agree and after Respecing her into a tempest cleric with 1 level as a wizard she is bad to the bone.
Her story line is one of the best characters, she's great support, and her romance actual includes getting to know each other before having sex. Also, let's not forget the best thing of all: she likes building sandcastles.
Note if you do that make sure she has high intelligence or her wizard spells won't land hardly ever. Different class's magic use different casting stats and it tracks it per class.
Source: Did it myself.
I like how she is the one companion I can trust to make her own choices so in her storyline I basically always just stay silent or tell her she doesnt need me to tell her what is right. And every time she has made me proud with her choices. It feels like she is the one companion I can put my faith in and she will never let me down.
EDIT: Especially because I chose to romance her in this playthrough.
She does have the most realistic and well-paced romantic development among the party, imo, so she certainly has that going for her. Still tends to come on to you just for treating her like a decent human bean, but in her defense it's apparently a novel thing for her.
