You are not meant to be able to kill the dragon yet

You're not meant to fight him because he plays a pivotal role in a companion quest, same reason you can't fight voss there.

To be fair you meet qudenos (who is an adult red dragon) at level 5. Adult red dragons are CR17 which is designed for a level 11 or 12 party.

I think what you meant to say was that "this is dnd, we are supposed to be able to die to everything"

He have 200+ in story mode and 500+ HP in tactician. Just 10 and 20+ powder barrels around him. I can put its in sneak. I can kill him for one shot. Rally.
I feel deceived. Script armor so crude.

The player must have a choice - to ruin the companion's quest (which may not exist) and to kill the dragon. I choose to slay the dragon

That companion is already dead though so it shouldnt matter. If I can kill the companion then why not let me fight the dragon? especially since that dragon literally with its stats would get wrecked by my sorcerer male even solo. Heck, give him 2 dragon buddies and ill still send him to Avernus within 10 minutes.
Because this isn't actually DnD, this is a video game based on DnD. A collection of code that could actually break and is far more limited than what you'd get from a person's campaign.

you can kill "elminster" and brake gale's quest, you can kil laezel in the beginning and never encounter voss again, there is NO a single adequate reason to make voss and the dragon unkillable just by script

Because choices in this game don't matter.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
