Report a translation problem
The room looks like the place where they harvest souls, preserve the brains from the left body for the Illithid experiments and then use the remains for necromancy purposes.
I'd just say it's an environmental storytelling tool, but would be cool if you could do something there.
It probably was designed as a "jail" in which you would have to escape after getting Knocked out by the giant tentacle.
You might try lighting all of the candles around the pentagram points, then casting animate dead on the pile of parts in the large bowl that looks very 'presented' or offering-like at the 'entrance' to the pentagram. No idea if they'd have something awarded for carrying out such a ritual, but just looking at what is there, that's how I'd think!
