Wyrm's Crossing Cloud Kill Trap will not Disarm
In act III I hit a cloudkill trap in in the caves under wyms crossing. It's one of the vent style traps in a small area where there is a wooden chest containing green dye (only) effectively protected by the trap. I had my character make the DC30 roll to disarm the vent and... nothing. Everyone dies from cloudkill. The disarm on the vent has no effect. Covering the vent with a crate has the same result. It's almost as if there is another vent covering the same room which no one can detect that also needs to be disarmed. I reloaded six time with multiple perception advantage characters with guidance but they never find a second vent. Has anyone else hit this issue and how did you manage it other than simply avoiding it and not worrying about the silly dye?

Give one person the poison elixir open the chest and you're done. No need for the whole group in there.

cast fog. it replaces the poison cloud until the spell expires.

Cast Otiluke’s Resilient Sphere on my rogue. Walked over, got the contents of the chest and left.
