Game ends suddenly at Creche
This my second play-through, and once again I find a sudden premature end to the game at the Githyanki Creche, despite a completely different approach and play style this time.
Is it me, am I missing something?
In my first play-through I did not encounter any other egregious campaign-ending events during cutscenes, at the very least there was a skill-check, or combat option.
I love this game, but I am going to go out on a limb and say, this was some lazy writing in an otherwise amazing game, and it if didn't prematurely end the entire campaign, I would easily forgive it. I would love to see the metrics on players who had to reload a save here, and how much gameplay they lost on average.

What do you mean by "game ends"?
Grumpy Sep 16, 2023 @ 9:46pm
FFS ! what are we talking about?
Lord Adorable Sep 16, 2023 @ 9:48pm
Did you talk ♥♥♥♥ to a certain someone?
MakeshiftRiot Sep 16, 2023 @ 9:53pm
Yeah. Don't mouth off to Queen Toadie. Just nod and ignore.

If OP DID mouth off then it's their own fault because they get warned that doing so will be their end.

Kind of funny how many people disrespect an almost god or a god and then act surprised when they get smited.

You're talking about Vlaakith.
Vlaakith is the thousands of years old Lich lord of all Githyanki.
Vlaakith is not a god, and so isn't bound by the usual rules of "not interfering"
If you piss off Vlaakith she can, and will, 100% kill you.
No there isn't anything you can do about it.
She is easily a 20th level caster, you are level 6 or 7 at best.
She can literally wish you out of existence.

LOL no you didn't. Because if you actually did the party gets murdered and game over.

Actually we got it wrong, the dude just got adopted by the creche and married Baezel.

Now he's stuck there with 50 eggs and he's not happy about it.

I personally find it flattering how quickly I can earn the ire of a deific being that it would so recklessly Wish upon me without knowing the future implications of having done so. That is surely a unique skill in and of itself that only a select few could ever acquire.

How to say you haven't been somewhere without actually saying you've not been there...

Yes, this is a potentially a game ending part of the story.

It was bugged for a bit. They patched it not too long ago.

Did you mouth off to a lvl 12+ mage who has the spell "wish" ? As our DM would say, "are you sure about that ?"
It's you.

So, OP...
Have you considered that (and this is me assuming, because I have not played through every option/deviation in the game ((as Larian is wont to do and I love it)) as of yet) your choice to rid yourself of the illithid parasite and going to said creche to do such a thing, would indeed end your play as you have successfully removed the parasite from your body, yes?

This is most likely a logical end to the story, especially if you chose a custom character and didn't chose the Dark choice premade.
