Cutting bastardswords was probably one of the better changes. Those things never made sense. In reality a bastardsword is smaller than a longsword - halfway between the twohanded longsword and the onehanded arming sword.
Sword is sword.
Are you focused on just pure damage, utility, or defensive offense?
I currently use a myrkuriet scrouge flail as it gives better constant damage than any 1h sword i have found..but i just dont like the look of it and was hoping i missed something.
The only other +3 one handed weapons I found were Orin's weapons (shortsword and dagger), the Orphic Hammer (+3 Warhammer, that give you advantage on saving throws vs. spells) and the Blood of Lathander (+3 mace, casts sunbeam and blinds any undead or fiends that come close).
There are no great longswords, the Blackguard's Sword might be the best (+2, +1d4 necrotic, with a dazed on smite effect). Although I found a good mace from Viconia (The Handmaiden's mace, +2 +1d6 poison, sets Strength to 18 if lower) and a morning star from one of the merchants (the Sacred Star a +2 with +1d4 radiant damage, sacred orb on hit and chance to turn undead on hit). There's also a nice anti-undead Rapier in either the Szarr palace or the dungeon underneath (Pelorsun Blade, +1, +1d4 Radiant, advantage against undead).
That's only 1 damage more on average (D8 vs D6 additional damage die) but that's still important (and with savage attacker it's slightly more than 1 more damage). It's also bludgeoning damage while Nyrulna does piercing damage, which meets more resistances in BG3. There's also the potential problem of proficiency with tridents, while everybody is proficient with maces (afaik).
You might say that Nyrulna does much more damage due to the AoE when thrown. But I've used both weapons extensively and after a while it was a pain to actually get Nyrulna's AoE damage to work (friendly fire which required more planning and positioning), while Devotee's Mace just works and does slightly higher melee damage. Also note that when thrown, Nyrulna doesn't do the 2 damage from the Duelling fighting style, which you really really should get when going stick and board.
It's the one thing that makes stick and board not only viable but in most circumstances better than two-handed weapons (Devotee's Mace with Duelling is only surpassed in melee damage output by the Silversword, Balduran's Giantslayer and by a small margin by the Hellbeard Halberd).
Nyrulna increases your range by 3 meters and yields immunity vs. falling damage, but honestly at that point in the game everybody's already illithid flying, and Haste takes care of range limitations.
The sword.
What sword? Nyrulna is a trident and the Devotee's Mace is, well, a mace. And why stolen?
