I feel like for dragonborn and half-orcs they need new VA's for playable character
I'm talking about character creation, why does my dragon/half orc sound like some normal asf human. Their voice should be gritty and rough, esp a dragon born of all things. I know its probably not gonna happen and if it is it'll take a long while, but i'd prefer to be able to actually hear a dragon born and not jerry from accounting in a dragon suit.

Nice of you to offer to fund the voice acting for it, but you should probably let Larian know. I'm sure they'll be able to figure out how much the bill would be.

The 2 races were added last when studio voice recording was already finished most likely.

Infinity's engine game (Bg1/Bg2, IwD) did it better.

Why do their voices have to be gritty and rough though? Like, of course more voice options is nice but we don't need gravel-in-a-can for dragonborn just like we don't need faux-scottish for dwarves.

Right now there's only mods for it and you can thank AI for providing the voice.

Because we WANT them to be, period, all that matters. Good for you if you're happy with the "normal" run of the mill voices that sound nothing like you would imagine an orc or dragonborn to sound like.

We are not.

Can't deny that vocal chords, musculature, and throat length would have an effect on the sound of a spoken language. Dragonborn probably would be pretty distinct. Even humans at a certain height and/or volume have a noticeable affect to the sound of their voice.

I'm down with biology. But as far as video games go, I can see how it wasn't a priority 1 issue to do.

Would love a DLC with more voices. Absolutely. Would but it.

Dragonborns and half orcs are last to be added, the dragonborn npc VAs for act 3s are epic.

Also in the Neverwinter series, you had the choice between neutral / agressive / scholar / crazy / stoic tone, plenty of voices for RP & replayability to match your PChar background.

Same in recent Pillars of Eternity series.

Not relevant. You will pretty much never hear your character speak anyway.

I disagree you hear the character speak everytime a command action is given to it like :

'These boots have seen everything...'
'I hope the gods are watching me...'

Well, true enough. That is so far in the background that I really don't hear it anymore.

But, the point is well taken. I also feel the character creator is a bit slim, and one DOES see their character a LOT. :/
