everyone wants to be a paladin or a Sorcerer, probably cos they are that strong...
But yeah that doesn't sound like it's working right
Tempest cleric is something i haven't looked into much, i'll have to check it out :)
yeah fun fact not everyone just googles "what's the best subclass for bg3"
it should matter that the classes work as intended lol, even if they aren't what's meta in a singleplayer game lol
anyway just wanted to hint that there is room for some cleric love. Cos most don't play them.. so buffing some clerics could go along way having extra attack at level 6 (like
bard)would go along way or some other melee buff that would help them on frontline in heavy fighting where cleric belongs in my opinion at least..
but i would rebalance everything anyway for a video game from ground up, so...:)
The only thing that's a little awkward is how they feel like they should be decent in melee but not getting a second attack leaves them a bit behind even warlocks and bards.
Except war cleric if it were working right.
As a note I haven't actually tried tempest cleric out either but I realized that at lvl 5 maximizing damage on thunder spells gives them a 40 damage enemy-only thunder aoe spell (save for half) which can just let you blast a lot of enemies at that level out of existence.
Pretty annoying, I agree.
There are a few things still very wrong like sanctuary for example. Don't know if it is intended but with my druid (11)/cleric (1) I cast Moonbeam at highes lvl avaliable and then sanctuary. Its like a cheat code because you don't lose sanctuary after moving your Moonbeam. I could literally solo every fight (tactician) without minmaxing or using best in solt equipment. Actually I could have run around naked and it would not have mattered. It's not insane dmg but your are pretty much invincible for 10 turns at a time. Mostly thats enough and even if not, you only need to hide for 1 turn before being able to cast sanctuary again.
It's also because no other companions fill those roles. and shadowheart is the first character you get when you get off the ship. so no one sees the point in having 2 clerics.
Paladin is the exception but you have to more or less give 2 other members to get her.
