What Happens in Baldur's Gate After You Steal The Rune Powder Barrel

So before I made a deal with Philomeen, I switched character and then stole the rune powder barrel silently. After that I switched the character back again, and agreed to her deal.

She gave me the rune powder vial and left without any more dialogue, anyone knows what happens after that in Baldur's Gate? I know she'll blow the city if I let her left with the barrel, but what happen if you stole it?

I think the only thing that'll happen is that the group she was keeping it for won't be there (the cave will be blocked), since they don't have a plan now. I do believe you can still use it the way it was going to be used.

I ended up killing her after letting her go by turning on turn-based mode.

Then I got both the barrel and the tiny one.
