good lord how many runs have you done? im not sure if I could ever do more then 1 play through. I find it to be a good game but to me its not like WOW AMAZING level.
Its really good and really polished. But I dont think it brings anything new to the table in terms of cRPGS or TBT (turn base tactical).
Now since BG2 has originally released I probably did a handful of playthroughs. But that game was a generational game.
Besides Bg3 being high grade production value and being really polished I dont see much difference then other genre games.
Larian has over 500 employees and Owlcat 100+ and lower at the time of Pathfinder Wraith of the Righteous. The only thing Bg3 does better again is the polish cause larian has the $$$. So they can do motion capture, more modern graphic, top soundtrack team and full voice acting, But in game play terms it doesnt do anything different and does a lot worst.
bg3 has god awful character sheets, inventory, HUD and information. They try to obscure so much of the DnD rule set that a lot their descriptions make no sense. Everything shows dice except TO Hit shows some bogus Xcom %. A lot of the items you can equip dont provide enough DnD info. You got to hit a button then hover/click over each highlight word. It is like they are afraid to show DnD to the masses but then they have full Dice rolls for skill checks. Like WTF they are so inconsistent.
I try to avoid using them... but against the spider, i think its a fair strategy.
I was in the same situation a few days ago but i was short i think just 100xp from level 5 or 6. I looked up that ign interactive map and did a few encounters that i missed and was able to get the xp i needed.
Shadow druids, woads/mephits, redcaps/ethel phase 1, pre-ethel mask slaves, gnolls, paladins of tyr, waukeens rest events, clear blighted village, animal statue trap cave in druid grove, all druid grove XP sidequests, full clear goblin camp and goblin camp outskirts, chapel, owlbear cave, toll basement, discover selunite temple and outpost/underdark, whispering depths/spiders - you can do all of this easily at level 4 and you can beat ethel just fine at level 4 too, do you have scrolls? spells are so so so so so so strong just use scrolls and honestly it doesn't matter if you're underleveled or not on any encounters, the game throws OP scrolls at you nonstop.
That map is so cluttered that it's pretty difficult to read frankly.
fun fact, Shadowheart can't miss the webs with firebolt since they're objects.
And not giving bosses magic missile immunity is kinda dumb as well.
also one more tip for the spiders - just drink poison resist elixirs.
I wouldn't say it's "easy," but for me combat difficulties pale beside the navigation difficulties. Jesus, I spend the majority of game time getting lost than doing anything else...
You can hire 3 hirelings at camp. And if you go cleric 3 they basically get all there best buffs that dont have concentration. cleric bond and poison protection. then later u can give 1 level of druid to make like 80 good berries every long rest.
as long as buffs arent concentration you can leave them in camp. Poison protection is 2nd level spell.
