I love the feature, too.
-Real Alignment ( with real Alignment restrictions, and dialogue choices which affect Alignment changes) you know like it's supposed to be.
-Deity selection and bonuses (which include Domain Spells, Channeling and restrictions for the chosen Deity and favored weapons) you know like it's supposed to be.
The Truth: Larian are just removing more stuff from the game that offends people, like even the thought of a fantasy God existing, is simply too much for them.
BG2 had Alignments, BG2 had Deities. And BG2 dialogue choices and game decisions directly affected your Alignment and your role playing experience.
BG3 is a shallow puddle of an attempt at a RPG.
dnd 5 is based on rules as written without alignment. here clerics have one for just extra fluff text. in 5e u dont need a deity or alignment cuz WOTC dont want it, its not larian. it was too forcing for people, DMs were focused on alingments from players not the actual roleplay so it was cut out cuz community dont like it.
Are you just shilling anything DnD that's not BG3? At least play the games you're trying to sell to people; ignorance is a bad look when you're trying to peddle an agenda.
Was that ever in EA? I actually can't remember and I've played it for a couple years. I remember Clerics having the choice to pick a deity, even evil deities and major plot deities like Shar and the dead 3, but I don't remember being able to pick one for any other class.
Anyway, it was fun finding out you can pick one in Act 3.
i still have my EA save where my fighter chose selune
I do wish it extended a beyond clerics, since in Faerun being an athiest/agnostic is full blown idiocy. Its known the gods walked around destroying cities a century ago, its known thats where clerics derive powers, and its even commonly known that if you aren't sworn to a deity you end up in the wall of the faithless.
It means your mod is broken/uninstalled/deactivated. This isn't in the game natively.
