Report a translation problem
In act 1 there is an undead cleric you release from a tomb. He joins your party's camp and his name is Withers. Companions can be resurrected by him. Unfortunately, I suspect the place your companion died is just before you gain withers as a camp member.
Alternatively you should also have revivify scrolls in your inventory, clicking one of those when close to the corpse of a fallen companion OR if there's no corpse there will be a light blue ball of light in the vicinity too) you can rez them via that as well.

Unfortunately the game requires you to talk to people to swap them from your party.
Knowing Larian they might allow you to do so using the Speak with the dead spell or amulet.
Also, good resurrection of a thread dead for ovwr half a year.
He won't revive that character, won't take any money, and it will be removed from your party.
