I have no idea how the game has been out for 5-6 weeks, and they still haven't bothered fixing such a horrible issue. Then again, hopefully they're super busy fixing all the other incomplete stuff, namely the entirety of act 3.
If you want to explore Grymforge "safe" from crashes, then stay away from the areas I mentioned or play the game in the super laggy and awful DirectX 11 for the remainder of Grymforge. Once you've entered the no go areas AND saved, it's over. After that the crash issue will prevail in the area EVEN if you're in the previously crash safe zones....
Hopefully Larian can get it sorted. I've completely stopped playing the game because of it. It's irritating for sure. The game has been absolutely flawless for me up until this point.
