The poster on Nexus used inflammatory language in the mod's description, which Nexus doesn't allow ever, for any mod, for any game.
Of course the anti-"woke" geniuses took it all as a personal affront, adding to their already unbearable victimhood.
Does that mean it shouldn't exist? No. Does that mean that any website has to support the distribution of it? No, and they also don't have to support the 'make a party member transgender' mods. It got removed from Nexus because, for one reason or another, it goes against the values of the people running the site.
I’m ok with gays wanting all companions to be gay (the default BG3 ‘experience’).
But I’m not ok with all companions being gay in a fantasy world that’s just like our own, where everyone is not gay.
‘The creator of DnD said everyone’s pan, fool, so go touch grass!’
Yeah, he didn’t if you look it up.
Anyway, the BG3 companions are horndogs, and will just zone in for even the blandest activity - sex - whether you’ve done anything to deserve it or not.
Firstly, it’s not sex because it’s pixels.
Secondly, even if it was sex would you enjoy it after the simple formula that ‘got you there’?
Anyway, I want gay people, who are a very small % of the populace, to be able to enjoy life however they define it.
But simply put, after all these years, do I still feel ‘flattered’ when a gay guy hits on me?
No.
Do I hate him for it?
No.
So I want us all to enjoy the fantasy universe as we want ‘fantasy’. It is not a fantasy of any straight men to be hit upon by gay people (BG3). As in, Gale could’ve been a cool dude to hang out with, but if you start talking about the weave, he starts talking about the wang.
A lot of gay men hit on me. I don’t enjoy it. It makes me feel like I’m a woman. Which I am not.
So that’s my ‘parsing’ of it.
We straights want you gay people to enjoy your definition of 'sexual'.
We also want to just be friends with the companions in the game without having to ‘just say no’. Because I never had to say that to a dude IRL after giving them ‘dah high five’.
No it shouldn't, just like how I shouldn't be able to toggle off cis-het characters.
Or maybe Larian included LGBTQIA+ presentation in both BG3 and Divinity@ Original Sin 2 because they wanted to,.
a) they're not gay, they're pansexual
b) it's a fantasy world, it has no requirement to be exactly the same as ours
c) gay people exist in our world
d) apparently a lot of straight men's fantasy worlds include a significant number of lesbians
1) Ed Greenwood created the forgotten realms, not D&D
2) Ed Greenwood did actually say that the default in the realms is pansexuality

I want people to just let gay people be gay no matter how many of them there are, and for games to represent that LGBTQIA+ people do tend to congregate together.
These threads are a very good example of the above. They are unfortunately not banned or removed, but should be ignored. All that can be said about these ignorant people has been said, so they can look it up if they really want to know. It will only end if no one bites any more.

Dont care about this "pansexuality" even if Ed believe in that. As for me, this is another made up word. I can act as I believe in many of those things that we are forced in current times to believe. But inside, I dont believe in that kind of words and that cannot be changed.
You can want anything you like from straight people, but around me there is no place for that. And there will be no "alphabet" on my PC. And I dont care if you are mind reader. I dont expect you to incantly recognise if I am straight. I expect you to be afraid that I can be. It is your problem, not mine, that you are atracted to your own sex. If I would like to make it my own problem, I would go to some kind of gay bar or starbucks.
"Thankfully the vast majority of straight people are fine with saying no,"
Here, where I was born, hitting on same sex people could end up with punch in the face. Chances are of course lower, if both sides were on friendly terms before that situation.
And as it was said for many times in this forum, the issue is not with saying "no". The issue is that those are characters that you are using in your team. It would be half of the problem if those would be usual NPC. But I dont wanna play as gay characters. And sadly, Larian didnt create option to populate camp with fully custom characters.
Without mods, this game does not allow you to play straight only characters unless you are doing solo run or some kind of multiplayer trick. Even then, as all companions are bisex, without adding them to the camp, the quest number is visibly lower.
Yeah. Instead of that there are no cis-het characters in game. So there is nothing to toggle off in the first place. Well, at last if you believe that all characters are "pansexual" and only by luck they are with different sex right now - and still, those are only classic NPCs.
You can stop reading those threads if you dont like them.
