Hidden Easter Egg for Next Game
Larian boss says Baldur’s Gate 3 has Easter egg for next game

Baldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke revealed the game contains at least one Easter egg for Larian Studios’ unannounced next game, which has players trying to figure out what the hint could be.

Vincke, who is also the founder and CEO of Larian, teased the Easter egg in a Future Games Show interview after being asked if there’s anything in Baldur’s Gate 3 that players haven’t found yet.

“One of the writers told me that she put something in there that was talking about our next game,” he said. Vincke also revealed that Larian did the same thing with Divinity Original Sin 2, saying “We put in references to BG3 [in DOS2] and nobody found them – at least that I’m aware.”
[snip][end]

So, fellow Baldurians, what do you think the Easter Egg is?

P.S. honestly, I don't think anybody recognized the DOS2 clues for BG3 until after the game was in EA development, but ... well, blind easter egg hunting is always fun. :steamhappy:

Let the speculations begin!

I thought the only reference to BG3 in D:OS2 was during the ending when Tarquin was being incredibly unsubtle referencing mind flayers but maybe there's more that I'd actually recognize now in hindsight.

Kinda hard to say what might be in BG3 without any context.

It's obvious. The next Larian RPG is going to be about House Slytherin's civil war in the mid 1880s.

It's the actors: Doug Cockle (Geralt of Rivia) -> Abigail Thorn (Ensign Eurus) -> J.K. Simmons (Spider Man) -> Jason Isaacs (Gabriel Lorca) -> 1800's House Slytherin

See? It all connects.No. It doesn't. Not even Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy).

The current code name of the fantasy RPG in the early stages of development is "Excalibur".
The earlier guess the egg might be about a sword could be correct.

So, a Monty Python game. I'm down with that. They're cheap but wonderful wastes of time.

Honestly, I think it would be funny if there isn't actually an Easter egg at all and they're just messing with people.
