turns out when you play Joe Generico your experience may may be lacking in spice

Humans are the dough in a sea spices in fantasy settings. They exist, but what I've experienced is they're never really fleshed out unless they're all-rounders (generic exp bonuses in many games make them get stronger much faster), religious fanatics (crusader style, very powerful and overzealous) or good at basic tasks like farming. Otherwise, they're just there, you can play 'em, they look and act normal, just like you'd expect from dough.

I'm having trouble thinking of a useful human-specific dialogue option.

Really funny playing a Gith cleric of Selune with Shadowheart in your party.

I dont care what they spend time on - I dont like their "critical role"-like companions anyway. Bunch of annoying snowflakes. If there is DnD, I play Human Druid. Without tragic backstory.
And it is not needed to get data from reddit to see that Larian was uninterested in human, as they didnt even bother to implement variant. Game needs modding.

This is not a problem with human race in fantasy, this is a problem with developers/creators. Lack of imagination and lazy thinking, that there is nobody that would like to play them anyway.
I mean...all throughout EA their Data has shown that Githyanki are the least favorite and humans are the most favorite races....is it really that surprising, that they try to make the least favorite more attractive and don't care that much about the choice that's already a favorite? :P

Go kek to some other wow players.
I dont sell you my druid, I can be lazy if I want. But still, I wouldnt call it lazy. It is character that I like and what I do with character is the real game. Buuuut for some people, game is finished when you finish character. Sad for you.

True, according to Larian, the top 3 most popular races are:
1) Half-elves;
2) Humans;
3) Elves.
With very little gaps between them in terms of popularity. My first character was also half-elf. Half-elf master race ftw.

And another sad attempt from one of the irrational game haters at creating a fuss.

Of course humans have not much going on because no one bats an eye if a human comes along. No one asks for any human things because everyone knows them already. They are everywhere.

If a Gith appears on the other hand than that is not only rare but also often not welcome. Just ask God's favorite princess. Additionally is there a whole map part just with Gith content, who all react to them and vice versa. You even have - and hold on to your butts, this is almost a spoiler - a Gith in your party! That you can talk to about many things "Gith". Shocking, innit?

Or in other words - nothing to see here (or there), attempt was once again a stupid one.

This is exactly it. It drives me nuts that all these NPC like people parrot the same thing “humans are boring and common.” Nah. They’re as boring as you make them. I could come up with a bunch of human centric dialogue for this game. Use your dang imagination. Isn’t that a big part of D&D?
