After patch 7 the game loads but once it hits 100% I'm taken back to main menu
I was using a modded game (Vortex) before patch 7, and have since deleted the mods uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

However, I’m having an issue where when I go to load an old save, or start a new game, the loading screen will appear to load to 100%, then the loading % will decrease until I am sent back to the main menu.

After I installed the game for a second time, I was able to get into character creation. Then I tried to installed the mods again and I got the same problem. Before patch 7 I was able to play the game with 100+ mods just fine, now I cant. I want to play it with mods because I already played the game about 13 times so I wanted to tried new mods and play the new updates.

Then consult the mod author. You will not get help here on these forums.

The mods work fine for other people. Very few have the same problem as me. It also does it with mods from BG3 toolkit

Nah, I'd win. Sep 22, 2024 @ 7:42pm
If possible can you send your mod list? I have a working theory that it's related to character customization mods like faces and subclasses

There is also note of an important subclass mod not being updated to patch 7 because the author is currently getting married/honeymooning

Try deleting your mod list modsettings.lsx and redownloading and installing Script Extender and BG3 Mod Manager. That fixed it for me.

Before you do this however, I did have a huge issue with FPS with the new patch so I recommend just going back to the previous patch under beta and forget the new patch ever happened and just keep your mods and mod list the way it is.

I'm having the same problem, do you have the steps i need to take to revert my game to a previous version?

The thread is long outdated. The issue described no longer exists with the game.

If you still have the same problem I found a way to fix it. First erase the modsettings.lsx in the user/(name)/App data/local/Larian studios/Baldurs Gate 3/public. Then erase all your mods (mod folders can also be found in this path before public) then open the game again, make sure you don't have or had downloaded any mods from the in-game mod manager and you either use vortex or BG3 mod manager. Personally I'm using vortex, download the mods using vortex and if you want to add any mod from mod.io you will need to download it manually and drop it in vortex.

I just tried to start the game with my Vortex mods. The game is harassing me, claiming unresolved issues. The mods are marked as Third-Party mods and I am told to disable them.

How are you getting around this?

Can you post the fix anyway, in case anyone looking at this later on has the same issue
