"Surely"..."Why can't I be homophobic and racist in the video game like I am on twitter?" Is all I read.
Yea, everyone should be fighting for your right to be a homophobe.
Also it is pretty funny to watch them make themselves look like idiots by playing dumb. (oh dear gods I hope they're just pretending)
To further accentuate the point. and I quote my above posting. YOU choose the term 'different' or 'unusual' Ed Greenwood does not.
Which is to say, no to the advance or avoid the situation entirely, in the BG game for consenting adults. Alternate hosting sites, not official, you also have the option to erase all homosexuality. (Users beware of malware)
People have the choice, to be the bigot in way they want.
Local bigotry, and fear of the unknown commonly exists in literary tropes UNTIL you get to know the person or new thing.
First of all, i’m just answering the Op for all the other viewers and not him. In another theead he already gave proof that whatever he think is law for him and to disagree with the golden boy is to be wrong by default.
That said.
The cultural answer: homophobia is a Christian invention mostly.
The official answer: https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Gender_and_sex
I, personally, hate the pronouns ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, if there’s no reasonable context behind (like a collective consciousness or modrons calling themselves us), but for WotC it’s an official thing and liking or not it’s how it is.
"As to sexual attitudes in the Realms, there is indeed local prejudice against individuals who have “different” or “unusual” sexuality—bigotry and a dislike of change and “what’s not usual” is everywhere and is (unfortunately) part of being human."
Nope.. He chose those terms. This is the whole quote from him. Feel like youre trolling.
Reading comprehension my friend.
As a member of the woke mob (such kind words, darling!) I can think of two reasons:
1. It is quite the sensitive topic to some, so it is wise to avoid it altogether. Of course, the game was not shy to incorporate darker themes but it is understandable if you do not want to hit all the sensitive issues in the world.
2. It is also a matter of worldbuilding. I can totally imagine a society where that's not an issue.
I do not think the other topics will ever be 'banned' from games. It all depends on the genre and the game.
