I like the mods but they keep getting outdated
There was talk about how they would integrate methods where this doesn't happen (updates don't break the game)

Is this still in the works / has it been fixed / ignored ?

I'm asking because I've got about 100 mods and I basically have to delete all of them, download them one by one, re install, check for errors until it works.. this takes hours.. many hours.. I'm not tech savvy either so it's just a mess for me.

Every update so far is a painful experience rather than a joyful one, I'd rather play a permanently frozen version of the game if it were possible.

So.. did they fix the update issues with mods?

There was never any promise of unofficial/unsupported mods not breaking your game.

Going forward, if you use the mods through the in-game mod manager, you shouldn't have to worry about updates breaking your game.

Anything unofficial/unsupported is 'use at your own risk.'

You can remove the manifest file and run game with Steam off. Then updates do not concern you at all.

dont update your game then, i dont understand why you are putting yourself through these isues. Finish your playthrough, then update later if you like. Plenty of collections that are patch 7 ready.

There are 3 options;

Always update game
Only on launch
High prio..

Removing the "manifest file" and run the game offline: whenever I play BG3 I have relog into offline mode << I forgot to tick the "only on launch" silly me, I still have to update every mod this time.

It's not like I want to update the game, it just happened, but I guess that answers the question; they're either working on it or they ignored it.

Thanks for the tip.

It isn't an issue of 'fixing the updates'. Mods are 3rd party software you are choosing to put in your game. It isn't on Larian to make sure they work with their updates, and it isn't on Larian to update the mods.

If you choose to use mods you absolutely can, but understand, the only one responsible for keeping your game running while using mods is you.

There are some mods that look like fun. I don't plan on using a single one until all the major updates with this game are done.

I have the BG3MM one, I just failed to make a proper system when I first started so updated the mods is kind of a hassle, it's better to start from scratch this time with only the latest files and have a proper list and then possible create my own update textfile.

****Piperbird has Baldur's Gate 3 3 minutes ago ...... go away .. you're just trying to act superior with common sense.. and it has nothing to do with the original post. I ask if Larian is genuinely trying to solve the issue or not, I'm not pinning any 3rd party problems "on them".. I am tired.. I am very tired.. I just wanted to log in and play today but I don't have the energy to fix "this"...

"I'd rather just wait 10 to 15 years and play when the game is dead" is how tired I am..

These interferences feel so unnecessary (though I see now how I should have handled them). Guess I'll come back later.. closing the thread, thanks for the input.

Launch via bat that checks for Steam running if concerned with human error.
